Audacy has announced its app will serve as the exclusive free streaming

make Mets games available to listeners throughout their broadcast territory.
As part of the deal, WCBS will produce the Spanish language broadcasts for
the Mets that will air on Good Karma Brands 1050 WEPN. The Spanish language broadcasts move from former Univision Spanish AC Que Buena 92.7 WQBU-FM
Garden City NY after previously being on WEPN from 2013 to 2019.
Audacy announced an expansion to their broadcast partnership with the New
York Mets that will make the Audacy app the exclusive free digital
streaming home for all Mets games as part of the WCBS 880’s (WCBS-AM) flagship partnership with the team. English and Spanish language broadcasts
of Mets baseball will be available on the Audacy app for consumers within
the Mets broadcast territory and Mets.com beginning Opening Day on April 7.
“Following one of the most successful offseasons in franchise history, we’re thrilled to gear up for the 2022 season by making our outstanding coverage of the Mets even more accessible to millions of local fans,” Chris Oliviero, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy New York. “In
the car, on their phone or however they may be listening – in English or in Spanish – the Amazin faithful will now have the ability to seamlessly catch every pitch during what is sure to be an exciting season.”
“We continue to enjoy a great partnership with Audacy and their ability to reach Mets fans,” said Sandy Alderson, President, New York Met. “We are also thrilled with the different platforms, both in English and Spanish,
that will give our fans the opportunity to follow the team for each and
every game.”
Additionally, WCBS 880 has also reached a content sharing agreement with
ESPN 1050 (WEPN-AM) that will bring WCBS 880-produced Spanish language broadcasts of all regular and postseason games to ESPN 1050 for the 2022 season.
The station also announces the broadcast teams for both English language broadcasts on WCBS 880 and Spanish language broadcasts on ESPN 1050.
Veteran broadcaster Howie Rose will continue as the lead voice in the Mets radio booth where he will be joined by Wayne Randazzo. Hispanic voice of
the Mets Max Perez Jimenez will call the games on ESPN 1050 alongside
Nestor Rosario.

Dave Frisina Retires After Cumulus Syracuse Eliminates Position
Posted: 31 Mar 2022 04:00 AM PDT
https://radioinsight.com/headlines/222408/dave-frisina-retires-after-cumulus-syracuse-eliminates-position/
Nearly three years after Cumulus Media Classic Rock 105.9 The Rebel WXTL
moved online only, longtime Syracuse NY talent Dave Frisina has retired
after Cumulus cut his position this week.
Frisina had been with the Rebel brand since shortly after its launch in
2012. The brand was moved online after WXTL was part of the 2019 Cumulus
sale of six stations to EMF. He continued to program the brand and host afternoons and his two long-running specialty shows Soulshine and
Soundcheck on Sundays. Focusing on local music, Soundcheck debuted in 1979, with Frisina stating, I spent yesterday trying in vain to negotiate a way
that I could remain in the limited capacity of just hosting Soulshine and Soundcheck on Sundays. I was flatly rejected.”
CNYCentral.com reports that Cumulus would not let Frisina host a farewell
show with him stating, “This was not exactly the graceful send-off into retirement, as the founding member of the station, that I had imagined.”
Frisina spent 25 years at Rock 95X WAQX from 1978 to 2003 in multiple
on-air and programming roles before moving to Galaxy Communications TK99
WTKW Bridgeport/WTKV Minetto as APD/midday host through 2011.

Fresh Listen: WPSC (Brave New Radio)
Posted: 30 Mar 2022 09:00 AM PDT
https://radioinsight.com/blogs/221837/fresh-listen-wpsc-brave-new-radio/
We are just under a month away from Vinylthon 2022, the College Radio Foundation’s seventh annual fundraiser. Organizer Dr. Rob Quicke is also
the faculty advisor of William Paterson University’s WPSC (Brave New
Radio), which rebranded last year as “New Jersey’s Home for Alt Hip-Hop.” So now is a good time for a Fresh Listen.
WPSC is the winner of the 2021 Marconi Award for College Station of the
Year. Licensed to Northern New Jersey, it also fills a relatively
underserved niche in Hip-Hop’s backyard. If you’re a First Generation or ‘90s Hip-Hop listener who fell away from the genre over the last few
decades, it’s a good place to hear current artists still doing the sort of writing and storytelling that powered early Hip-Hop.
I heard WPSC on midday Wednesday with PD Vont Leak (11 a,m.-1 p.m.). He’s
on again at 5 p.m., Thursday. Quicke also recommends the station’s “Morning Commute” show, winner of the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System’s Best Morning Show award; they’re heard Mondays 7-9 a.m.
Here’s WPSC at 11:45 a.m., March 23:
Megan Thee Stallion, “Outside”
Koffee, “Pull Up”
Earthgang, “Waterboyz”
Buddy f/Blxst, “Wait Too Long”
Jack Harlow, “Same Guy”
Drake, “Passonfruit”
Kanye West, “Good Morning”
Lil Nas X, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name”)—Leak set up the hour’s most mainstream moment by recapping iHeart Awards winners and with a listener request for Lil Nas X
Saba f/6LACK & Smino, “Still”
Vic Mensa, “Cocoa Butter Kisses”
