There's no danger of anything that portrays green energy as successful
of being swept under the rug, ever. There seems to be no pushback from
the energy suppliers or peripheral services on this; they'll make money
on the switchover. Their only concern is that they fear not being able
to expand the grid and supply enough green energy seamlessly. If that
happens, they'll be left holding the bag and will come under constant
criticism from political leadership and those who supported the mandated changes.
I have no aversion to wind/solar/etc. but my biggest concern is that it
will not supply enough energy within the timeframe for needing a lot
more power as e-car mandate, e-heating/cooking, and any e-requirements
for industry are put in place. I think it could be done, maybe, but it
will have a lot of potential environmental negatives that those who
champion this power source do not seem to see coming. I'm also
basically fine with the environmental changes.
But it looks a lot like an attempt at lockstep manipulation to support
shaky policy decisions, while at the same time not being able to enforce
a similar evolution toward green power in China, India, S American,
Oceania, and Africa. I think it's at least *possible* in Europe, the
US, Aus, and maybe Japan/S. Korea, but not even certain about the last
two. In short, it is more likely to cause disruption in the day-to-day
lives of the nations that convert to green than it is to solve global
warming.
But if they can do it without a lot of disruption, fine, no problems.
Some level of disruption would be acceptable, but it would be nice to
get something positive and concrete in exchange for the inconvenience.
Although it will be very tough to get decent Chinese food out of an
induction cooktop.
