    Covid spending in 2021 was 1.9 trillion. So obviously 2022 deficit would
    be smaller...

    Now it's time for US economy to collapse. First give everyone free
    money, then raise rates, then have recession. Great planning. Europe is
    equally fucked up, with likely even stickier inflation.

    Student loan interest rates are again running, but one can kick the can
    for a year before having to pay.

    resume next month for the first time since March 2020.

    One would think so.

    The most fiscally sound budgets I can recall were under B. Clinton.

    Not that I've heard. So far as I know, it's for borrowers who will go
    into certain public service fields.
