    Gaetz declares the seat of the speaker vacant. The motion is not tabled,
    so I hear. So McCarthy's seat is up for a vote.

    What will the Good Demmies do? There's nothing in this for them. Of the Republican loons, Demmies just might have the most malleable of them as speaker.

    Gaetz is pissed that he didn't get his shutdown - you need to be a sick
    puppy to be pissed about that - and says he will try again and again if
    he must. That's the loonie spirit.

    Anyway, good to see that the Battle of the Republican Bastards is on.
    May they devour each other before the elections.

    Nah. Gaetz doesn't like McCarthy as the speaker, from the get go.

    Not sure if personal or ideological. My guess is he thinks McCarthy is
    too far to the left, and makes now too many compromises.
