• RG 2024: Horrible day for Finland

From Kalevi Kolttonen@21:1/5 to All on Mon May 27 19:06:35 2024
    Hi there!

It has been a horrible day for Finland
in RG 2024. First Emil Ruusuvuori lost
in straight sets to Soonwoo Kwon who
is making a comeback after a painful
    shoulder injury.

Otto Virtanen made it to the main draw
as a lucky loser and he currently plays
    against Austria's Misolic. Otto won
the first two sets 6-4, 6-4 but lost
    the third 3-6.

Then Otto raced into a big 4-0 30-0 lead,
but after that it was awful: He lost
6 games straight, losing the fourth
set 4-6. He even had one breakpoint
to make it 5-1, but could not convert.

Anyway, what a terrible wasted lead!
You rarely see anything this bad.

The fifth set is about to begin. We
will see whose nerves can take the
    heat now!

You get 73000€ for the first round
and 110000€ for the second round. It
is a big difference. Even if Otto
wins this, I am sure that he cannot
    beat Francisco Cerundolo in the
    second round. Nor can Misolic.

Otto played a terrible fifth set losing
it 2-6. This match was nothing but an
embarrassment for the Finnish tennis fans.

You cannot lose a set when leading 4-0
and 30-0 on your own serve! It could happen
in hobbyists events but not in a fucking
Grand Slam tournament for fuck's sake.

    I just have to laugh!
