First 2 sets, Djoker looked like deer in headlights.
Alcaraz was toying with him. 3rd set Djoker woke up and made it close. Alcaraz is basically the best player of 2024 right now. He just needs to reign in his mental lapses and he won't lose any more. Like when he
served for the 3rd, he basically played poorly while Djoker was in
locked down mode.
It was a fantastic event for Alcaraz, but the
whole Finland also rejoices. Harri Heliövaara
and Henry Patten won the *doubles championship*
in a quite incredible match: I guess it was
6-7(7-9), 7-6(10-8), 7-6(11-9).
I watched the whole match and it was just
too exciting. Not a single break in the
whole match!
Harri and Henry saved three matchpoints in the
second set. The last time a pair has saved
a matchpoint and gone on to win the title was
back in 1992 when Michael Stich and John
McEnroe took the title.
