I think first two movies are good, really good.

They were successful, and those that followed, weren't. There really should have been no third (or any subsequent, what 6 or how many) movies with different cast.

It was probably a stupid decision to make them and the creators surely neglected the contribution of the original cast to the success of the original movies. You can't replicate that at will.

Kevin, his mom, dad, Buzz, wet bandits, the actors were suited and had a great chemistry.

That was the greatest appeal of the first two films, imo and not some funny booby traps.

Anyway, after two movies (which were enough for the story of little boy) I kinda regret that we didn't have 1 or 2 more with original cast and with older Kevin facing weirder situations as a teen.

That would have much been better than those that we did have, trying to replicate everything from the originals.

This way we would have original actors with an evolving story, it would have been emotional as well, I guess. At least it would have been something fresher.

And for a true Christmas spirit, Marv and Harry could have been redeemed in the final chapter reconciling with Kevin who kinda saves them in some Christmas tragedy.

E.g. for a third movie, Kevin and his family are in mountains, Kevin is stuck in a cottage alone there is a storm and Marv and Harry are stuck in a wilderness injured, Kevin as a teen has to fight through snow to save himself and those two.

And fourth, Kevin is in his early 20s he has finished law school and lives alone, unfulfilled. He is depressed wants to kill himself and then bumps into Marv and Harry and they go philosophical about life and everything. In the end they rob him, but he
doesn't mind because he has his life optimism returned? It's kinda a rip off from Beautiful Life but in a way it would have been nice way to close the circle.

We'll never have that, but what can we do.
    It's life.

    Merry Christmas.

May the newborn Jesus brings peace to you!

Jesus is actually so fucking dead, and has
been for something like 2000 year.

If anything, we should be grateful to *Judas*
for getting rid of this loser called Jesus. He
was nothing but scum of the earth and had to
be killed so that he would not make society
    too unstable. Hahahaha!

So thank you Judas for your heroic deed!

    br,
    KK

    Aren't sequels kinda always inferior?
You've seen it all so hard to impress.

I'd say Star Wars Episode V is/was rated highly due to shock revelation, offering something truly new, no? Which is usually impossible to achieve in sequels.

So a rule, if the sequels are at least 80% as good, it's good, they fulfilled its purpose.

You don't think home alone 2 was at least 80% of the original?

    I do.

Clearly inferior part is violence as many noted, some of the supposed injuries are deadly in real life and the whole thing with injuries and pranks had cartoon vibes making it overly unrealistic and too violent at times or not funny.

    Positives are...Trump in the movie?
