    Yes, totally disgusting.
US can't be relied on any more as a trade OR defence partner. Sad!

Trump is a real dickhead. Vance is like a poisonous, slimy snake.

Btw, here's Zelensky's Fox News interview AFTER the oval office fiasco.
    He's a pretty good guy...

You don't feel offended when Jew Zelensky who is in his 6th year of his 5-year term tells you, your country "you're gonna feel it"?

    Feel what?

Trump slammed him good at 01:15 after that.

Maybe you know or you don't, that 70% of USA aids to Ukraine or other countries end up being paid to businesses in USA.

I am fully aware of this. As I was informed, in the early 1990's it was something like 80% of the money sent to Israel resulted in them buying
    USA manufactured stuff.

But for the USA that is stupid business - I give you $1.00 and you pay
me $0.80 for an pear that I grew. So now I am out of a pear AND $0.20.
    Not good for the USA...

Also USA can't stop playing its role as the world leader otherwise it will vanish as a super power to other super power nations.

Excluding the USA; name one other "super power" nation than China.
I can't: Japan, UK, India, Germany, Brazil - not super powers...

If you're ok with guy coming to your highest office in a t-shirt I'm fine with that too. Couldn't care less.

But then you shouldn't talk about diplomacy or someone stepping out of the boundaries of established norms.

If you don't care about established procedures, then you don't, right. I'm sure jdeluise, the hypocrite buster, will explain that to you.

    That part is really annoying.

    https://youtu.be/6nyVETNESi8?si=k05l_MdlNWmmQU2Y

Does all sorts of outrageous disrespectful things but fake news just ignore it, instead they focus on Trump's raised finger or harsh words.

    Booooring.

Shit show aside, which may have been staged as some kind of art of the deal negotiation, the fact is this, Zelensky, Ukrainian Woody Allen, Larry David, etc who was propped up by the West and who is in his 6th year of his 5-year term is simply a man who
does not want peace, and instead wants America to continue arming and funding his anti-russian regime.

Trump's America is now allegedly for peace, if we were to believe them, so what is Trump supposed to do, how do you make peace unless they take a step back from doing the things that caused this war?

You either take a step back, or you double down and militarily defeat Russia on its doorstep.

You tell me what's more likely?

And please if possible, once Russia depletes Ukraine of manpower, and kills hundreds of thousands of them, are you willing to send your sons to die to prevent Russia from exerting influence in their own sphere?

Or is that the moment you will tell Zelensky it's enough?

    My guess is this.

It's not the sig, it's pressing tab on your keyboard.

Obviously you can press tab in any of your posts, it doesn't have to be in signature. :)

Although signatures are more likely to have it.

Also copying any web content e.g. Wikipedia content for example if you go too broadly with your cursor and copy entire tables from articles and post it here, they contain the same issue, I guess it's the way tables are presented here I assume it's tab
    again.

So *Fox* interviewers ask him why he wasn't wearing a suit?

    That's the way I interpreted PWL's statement.

    I haven't watched the interview, figuring that it was just more spin;
the actual payload was the exchange with Trump/Vance.

So *Fox* interviewers ask him why he wasn't wearing a suit?

    That's the way I interpreted PWL's statement.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/01/us/politics/brian-glenn-zelensky-suit.html

A voice from the press section joined the chorus of people demanding answers from President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine on Friday, during a meeting with
    President Trump and his associates.

“Why don’t you wear a suit?” a man asked Mr. Zelensky. “You’re at the highest level in this country’s office, and you refuse to wear a suit. Just want to
see if — do you own a suit?” He added, “A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the office.”

The questions came from Brian Glenn, a correspondent for Real America’s Voice, a right-wing cable channel that has spread conspiracy theories about
noncitizen voting and helped distribute Stephen K. Bannon’s “War Room” podcast after Mr. Bannon was barred from YouTube, Spotify and other mainstream
    platforms.

Mr. Glenn’s outlet was selected to take a “secondary TV” role in the White House press pool alongside CNN on Friday — a position that did not exist before
this week. That access was granted as the White House continued to block reporters from The Associated Press from attending, according to a schedule sent
out by the White House, and as it began this week to handpick the pool reporters who cover the president in small settings, such as the Oval Office
    meeting with Mr. Zelensky.

But I've had no issues with your posts ever since we discussed this and you've changed those sigs. Maybe it happened once or twice since, but I assumed it's an one off thing and didn't even mention it and it clearly was.

Scall just did it once in his last post, I didn't comment either.

Back then jdeluise kept posting for a while by pressing tab in his post so that I have issues, lol.

needed. To test this I will turn them off for a while.

    My guess is this.

It's not the sig, it's pressing tab on your keyboard.

Obviously you can press tab in any of your posts, it doesn't have to be in signature. :)

Of course I cannot say definitively, but I'm pressing no tabs, and if
this shows up consistently it would mean that I'm pressing at least one
time at the minimum in every post, and I am sure as my name ends in the >ethnically approved "f-i-s-h" that I am not pressing tabs every time it
    post or reply.

In fact, I'm not a betting man, but I'd probably be willing to bet 1K
    that I'm not using tabs.

But I *do* want to fix this if possible, and if I can do it from my end,
I will. If I can't, I'm willing to live with it.

So let's work from the fact that I'm adding no tabs *manually*, and yes >indeed there may be tabs in the sigs, but if I do not use them, then
they're coming in from some other format override or content. I am
sending plain text (no HTML), so...

Of course, an alternative is that it's not tabs... ;^)

Although signatures are more likely to have it.

Also copying any web content e.g. Wikipedia content for example if you go too broadly with your cursor and copy entire tables from articles and post it here, they contain the same issue, I guess it's the way tables are presented here I assume it's tab
    again.

I have done that some, but...

I'd like to fix it, just to know what it was...

I reckon the problem lies with their news client, which is a Chinese
POS. AFAICS, Chinese doesn't use punctuation and whoever wrote the
code seems to have forgotten that other languages do. The stripping of
spaces and punctuation appears to occur in quoted text, but not in
    original posts.

As a brief start, how long have you seen this deal with ^M?

A day or two. But on this current post, I don't see it.

    This is true.

Sawfis, now when I reply to your post I see ^M at the end of all your lines. I happen to know
that ^M is a CR. Did you change something, or is it on my side?

    The plot thickens :-)

Ah, let's wait a bit. For the last day or too I have also used the phone >>>app PhoNews. SoI've got output from two NNTP clients now: PhoNews and >>>T-bird (which I've used for years). T-bird is stet to plain text
    (UTF-8), no HTML.

As a brief start, how long have you seen this deal with ^M?

A day or two. But on this current post, I don't see it.

OK, this is by PhoNews. Do you see it now?

    No.

    Thanks, b.

Sure. I am pretty good at playing IT guy. I can do QA too if necessary :-)

Honestly I never cared about the quoted text and just left it to be handled by the app.

I thought following hierarchical view of the discussion thread should be enough to highlight the post I am

I am not even sure how we started discussing this a year ago or whenever it was and Sawfish was the first one to have shown interest in solving the issue, I think he heard it from whekdr it bothered us, I doubt he heard it from me, and I think I realized
it's tab issue. It's because I had issues reading even my posts when I was pasting stuff from Wikipedia.

Sawfish said he'd remove those sigs, but I never asked him to do that.

Whekdr mentioned this again the other day to Scall, obviously it was sig again (people love using tabs in signature).

Now we talk about it again and I'm not sure why. It's actually the opposite of what you claim I don't recall ever complaining and in fact it's whekdr who mentioned it to Scall recently, no?

But for you he's the "good guy" because "he at least admits".

    Admits what, and when?
    I didn't hear it.

I'm aware of deficiency of this client, however pros outweigh the cons for me.

I really think quoting and endlessly debating is outdated. There are no more people who do that in good faith. It all comes down to cheery picking and snark remarks if you debate your enemies.

And if it's your friends, quoting is kinda helpful but not really necessary, you can still sum it all up in one message addressing the entire issue. Good guys won't ask unnecessary questions.

Again, overall situation is not good and generally it's messy, but the last thing I want here is to talk to guys like you debating point by point and quoting each sentence.

    I don't feel I'm losing anything.
