... the price of electricity doubles. Until then, bye-bye profitability
of NPPs.

Fortum is a state+private owned energy company that is known for betting
the house, and suffering world record losses, on Russian hydro and
German natural gas (= Russian natural gas). I assume they have a nose
for money.
Of course, there's two ways around bad profitability in this case.
Increase demand and/or increase subsidies. For the first, you need to incentivise X, formerly Twitter, to build gas guzzling data centers up
North. That's easy. Subsidise them. Price guarantees, tax breaks,
construction subsidies, .... the works.
There's already been lobbying for the latter, increasing subsidies to
Fortum. The outgoing, going, gone conservative minister of environmental
stuffs did lend an ear. Thought it was a splendid idea. In practice,
this would mean price guarantees, tax breaks, construction subsidies,
.... the works.
Until either of these materialise, I guess were stuck with cheap prices
and ... GWEEN TWANSITION.
