Fox interrupted for breaking news about Donald Trump as he makes huge
    mistake on air

Fox News had to pivot from its regular programming to relay some
"breaking news" regarding Donald Trump after he messed up during a live broadcast.

The President was addressing the media following his announcement of
banning Harvard University from admitting international students, a move
that has since been overruled by a judge in the United States. Trump's administration accused the esteemed institution of letting
"anti-American, pro-terrorist agitators" harass Jewish students on
campus and alleged links with the Chinese Communist Party.

However, under the spotlight in a fresh White House broadcast, Trump
faced pressing questions about his motives. One reporter put him on the
spot saying, "Why do you not want the best and brightest from around the
    world to come to Harvard?"

While the live breaking ticker displayed, "Trump: Tariffs aren't
hurting, they're helping," Trump retorted, "I do, but a lot of the
people need remedial wrath." Realizing his verbal slip-up, Trump swiftly corrected himself, saying, "Math. Did you see that? Where these students
can't add two and two, and they go to Harvard.

"They want remedial math, and they're gonna teach remedial math at
Harvard. Wait a minute. So why would they get in? Why would somebody
that can't add or has very basic skills, how do they get into Harvard?
    Why are they there?"

He elaborated, "And then you see those same people picketing and
screaming at the United States and screaming that they're anti-Semitic
or they're something, we don't want troublemakers here. But how do
people that can't- When Harvard comes out with a statement that they're
going to teach some of their students remedial math, that's basic math,
    that's not the deal."

Yep. Remedial math isn't remedial wrath. Although some might ask what
    the difference is.

Wrath might be too advanced a word for old Donald, though.

I think the easiest way to understand the tone and prime motivation for
by far the biggest part of Trump's 2nd presidency is to see it as a
    vendetta.

It's a period of cultural revanchism.

Pretty astonishing to me how the GOP-Demo competition has become so Machiavellian since 2020.

Yes, I see this too, Scall, and thought about it.

Where it seemed to really start within our lifetimes was likely Nixon's Watergate impeachment, where party members were forced by circumstance
to choose sides and dig in; this because the basic fall-back model.
After this settled down during Carter and Reagan, the latest bout of partisanship as opposed to positive policy results came with Gringrich's
term as Speaker of the House. He was a precursor of talk show guys like Limbaugh, Beck, et al.

It has continued since, with a major increase during Obama, who made
Trump possible, who made Biden possible, who returned the favor to Trump.

There's a sort of right-leaning academic, Niall Ferguson, who has drawn
a parallel between the political stage at which the US is at and the transition of Rome from an aristocratic republic to an authoritarian
    empire. It is thought-provoking.

Thanks for the tip, I need to read that thesis.
