I wanted to mock up a couple of Shaker style doors and drawer fronts to
show SWMBO what I had in mind for some kitchen cabinets I'm building.
(We're trying to figure out how wide they should be.)
I had some decent cardboard left over from a water heater box, so I started cutting long strips for the rails and stiles on the table saw. I totally expected
the strips to "kick back" since I wasn't using a push stick, I was just standing
to the left of the blade, holding the 2' x 4' panels against the fence.
What I wasn't expecting was how strangely satisfying the kickback would
be. Once the cut was completed, the strips slowly slid backward along the
fence and eventually just sort of floated off the table saw and landed a
couple feet away. Everything was nice and gentle, almost in slow motion.
