In the Old Testament, prophet Jeremiah advised that the Jerusalem's citizens surrender to Nebuchadnezzar's siege and they would save their lives.

But current leadership of the Holy Land does not have wisdom nor the morals
of king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. In peace time, Babylon relied of wise men
in consulting the king. This is how prophet Daniel got noticed, and through
the interpretation of king's prophetic dream - apparently a revelation of the God of Abraham Himself, Daniel earned merit by the grace of God to be in the position to benefit the captive Judeans (Book of Daniel).

In more recent history, religious leader Mahathma Gandhi chose the way of passive resistance against military superior British Empire.

I understood that this was not without a cost, but the result was Indian freedom from colonial dominion.

The matter however needs greater research. Gaza seems so overcrowded that
no bullet or shrapnel can miss human flesh in the praise "surgical precission strikes" of the IDF.

The events started accelerating, and become too fast for merely following
the news, let alone how it must feel for the Gaza population in the field.

So far, we can only pray, and we know that "Justice is slow, but reachable."

The downside of this [or a desired effect?] might be the escalation of Islamic extremism, and marking those praying for peace as "damned traitors and infidels".

This is hardly contributing the the cause.

May the LORD God Almighty, Merciful grant peace to those who are suffering. Martyrs we are not worthy to mention.

in the name of the LORD God Creator of the Universe, Maker of Heaven and Earth,
    Maker of Adam and Eve,
Almighty, Merciful, Longsuffering (Slow to anger)
in the name of Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth and
in the Holy Ghost of God holy name
    Amen

    a disciple
