In the time long, long ago, in a land far, far away, there was a valley in which
the people were delivered from the great slavery.
So they set up the Watchers. The first generation of Watchers were wise, but they
assimilated the opportunistic converts who soon came on top of the hierarchy, close
to the Locksmith, and did stuff which he partially approved, partially did not know
about and partially could not stop with his devices - all to the extend unknown to
the narrator.
Now, after several generations, the new Watchers also wanted to be rich, and some
wanted to rig gambling and lottery, and set up football matches so the President's
club would always win.
In the course of this, they exhausted randomness in the valley.
Thus, all of their communication codes and certificates became predictable, up to
the wind and motions of the leaves on the trees.
When the alien race came to attack, they thought they will generate safe communication
certificates like always, but without randomness, the codes were limited to a very
narrow computation space crackable by big computing machines in a matter of seconds.
This is the story of the Valley of Rigged Matches.
