    Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of re-typing, editing and possibly publishing my grandfather's memoirs. His family, the Youngs' are mostly from the Roanoke area. I have a genealogical history done several years ago by is brother and his wife. I am
interested in taking a trip this spring to Roanoke and possibly seeing some of the sights he refers to in his book.

I am interested in finding out if anyone knows about property bought by Peyton Young on the "Pigg Riber, near Snow Creek, Franklin Co." aproximately in the early 1800's.

Also, I believe the next property owned by the Youngs was purchased by William Young, one of Peyton's children on "Brown Hill near Ferrum, VA" is still in existence. My grandfather says he visited the home in 1932 and at that time it was owned by
George Ingraham. Does anyone know specifically where this is, or who owns it? I don't know how to go about finding it once I get to Ferrum, which is on the map. Apparently there is a graveyard on the property which contains the grave of William Young
and others in the family. I am anxious to visit and see if I can find it, with permission of the property owners of course.

There are also references throughout the book to Rocky Mount where my great grandfather was postmaster, Claiborne Ave, and 907 Rorer Ave in Roanoke. His family was also one of the founding families of the New West End Methodist Episcopal Church, South,
which was on 13th at Campbell Ave. at one time. Does anyone know if this church still exists? It did as late at the 1940's because my father was baptised there.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated as I am very new to this whole thing.

I have in the genealogical records I mentioned above, information on the families of:
    Michael Cadet Young
Jackson (Babe) Lee of Franklin Co. b.1907
Richard I. Lee, who emigrated from England and died in 1664 and his
    family
    Sallie Lee Angle
George Osby Young and his family
Ida Cordelia Gravely of Snow Creek, VA
The Cooper Family - Charles, John and Thomas of Franklin Co.
The King Family: Benjamin Seward King, b. 1785 and his family

If anyone is interested in any of the above - I'll give you what I have. Thanks for all the great info!!
