Yes I think there is a problem with porn in that it tends to show extremes
and hence feeds expectations beyond the normal range.
In the case of a sex bot, can you imagine the embarrassment if you accidentally left the washable bits in the dishwasher? :-)
I think an addictive person will get addicted to these bots just as with anything else like gambling etc, its the thrill and honestly, for many
abusers its the thrill that gets them off. For bdsm of the conventional
nature its still the thrill and to some extent the pain and challenge but we still know we are on the side of a line and can stop before it becomes
abuse. If you have a bot that will take what you dish out could be dangerous
if a real person gets to be the next partner.
I don't think its understood that many men and women need some kind of
sexual release from time to time, but I'm not sure an expensive doll is
quite going to do it for many, its either using that sex organ between your ears during masturbation, or its a partner, paid or otherwise in whatever
role play you wish.

Brian, I remember reading years ago that most studies seem to show that
the availability of porn (magazines, internet, etc.) actually correlated
with lessened incidents of sexual assault in certain areas. The thinking
is that men are available to quell some urges with visual stimulation,
which acts as a pressure relief. The idea that increased porn would lead
to men seeking to make those fantasies real did not hold up.
The issues with child porn is that you can't make it without children. Apparently there are quite a lot of people (mainly men) collecting child porn, but they don't actually abuse the children themselves. At least, not directly. Indirectly, of course, they are feeding into the industry. I
think, though, that this is an entirely separate problem.
If I had unlimited funds, I might consider buying a sexbot, simply for the novelty. But I'm also pretty sure that the novelty would wear out, and I'd
be compelled to just bring her out for entertainment at dinner parties.
