Have you perchance read Jung on such matters. I have and
while he considered it a monomania he did not delve as did Dr.Harry
Benjamin in 1966 in his work "the Transsexual Phenomenon". This was
the first work to address this issue and may have been the first
to use the term "Transgender" in English though a German Doctor in
the 1920s and 1930s was involved in studies of such individuals and
how their extreme gender dysphoria might be ameliorated. His Clinic
and work were destroyed by the NAZI in the mid-1930s for the usual
reasons that Autocrats use. He was out of Germany at the time and
never went back. A lot of the folks associated with his clinic were
killed by the Third Reich but one or two managed to survive and we
have their accounts. The German doctor, Magnus Hirschfeld, may have
used the term transgender but since his books are very hard to find
