PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) - Two people wanted as persons of interest in a Colorado death and missing persons investigation have been spotted in
    Lamar County.

They should be considered armed and dangerous.

Law enforcement in El Paso County, Colorado, issued a BOLO for the Johnny Rankin Morris and Hailey Diane Cole on Thursday that included Mississippi
due to Morris’ ties to Stone County.

Stone County connection to couple wanted from Colorado in death
    investigation, missing person case
Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel said local deputies discovered the
    couple’s truck, a blue 1994 Ford F-150, around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

The truck was located in the 2700 block of Oak Grove Road just outside the
    city limits of Hattiesburg.

Rigel said video showed the suspects getting out of the truck and walking
in an easterly direction towards Hattiesburg.

To help law enforcement further track the couple’s movements, Rigel is
asking anyone in the area with Ring doorbells to check their video from
    Friday night and Saturday morning.

Contact the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office at (601) 794-1005 if the couple
    or anything suspicious is seen.

Morris is 46 years old and is around 5 feet. 9 inches tall, 150 pounds. He
has short brown and gray hair with blue eyes and an unknown tattoo on his
right ear. In the video, Morris was wearing blue jeans and a dark colored T-shirt.

Cole is 43 years old and is around 5 feet. 5 inches tall, 145 pounds. She
has medium-length brown hair with blue eyes. In the video, Cole was
wearing a light colored hoodie and darker pants.

Rigel said there are no current warrants out for Morris or Cole, but they
are wanted as persons of interest in the Colorado investigation. He
emphasized that they should be considered armed and dangerous.

“If you see anything suspicious or you think you see them, don’t approach them,” Rigel said. “Just call law enforcement or 911.”

Investigators in Colorado named Morris and Cole as persons of interest in
an ongoing death and missing persons investigation after a body was
    discovered in Park County, Colorado.

Wiggins Police Chief Jeff Thomas said Morris was out on bond for a 2023
arrest on a domestic violence kidnapping report.
