Shamsud Din Jabbar, the ISIS flag-carrying, killer terrorist who mowed
down New Orleans revelers with a truck in a deadly New Year’s Day terror attack, has been pictured for the first time in a photo obtained
exclusively by The Post.

Jabbar, a 42-year-old Texas native with a military background, was shot
and killed in a firefight with cops just moments after he plowed into
crowds on the famed Bourbon Street just after 3 a.m. Wednesday — leaving
at least 10 dead and 35 injured.

The FBI, who earlier revealed it was probing the carnage as “an act of terrorism,” said an ISIS flag was found inside Jabbar’s vehicle. A black
flag affixed to a pole on the back of the truck could be seen in photos of
the vehicle amid the carnage.

The suspect has been identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar.

Jabbar, who grew up in Texas, had served in the military for a decade, law enforcement sources told The Post.

The details about his past began to emerge as investigators continued to
probe the bloodshed and a motive behind the attack.

It comes, too, as the feds revealed weapons and improvised explosives were discovered inside the vehicle in the aftermath.

Multiple other devices were also located scattered around the French
Quarter, the FBI said.

The truck used in the attack appeared to have been rented, according to
the FBI.

The attack unfolded at the intersection of Bourbon and Canal Streets in
the famed French Quarter neighborhood at about 3:15 a.m. — close to where revelers had gathered to watch the city’s New Year’s Eve fireworks and
just hours before the highly-anticipated Sugar Bowl college football
playoff game, cops said.

“This man was trying to run over as many people as he possibly could,” New Orleans Police chief Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said, adding the
driver “was hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did.”

The suspect then jumped out of the vehicle and immediately started firing
at cops, injuring at least two officers, she added.

He was shot dead when officers returned fire.

A photo obtained by The Post showed a bearded Jabbar wearing camouflage
lying next to the truck after he was killed by cops.

Investigators are currently working to determine Jabbar’s potential associations and affiliations with terrorist organizations, the FBI said.
