BOGALUSA, La. — The mayor of Bogalusa was arrested along with several
others in connection with a drug and prostitution investigation by
    Louisiana State Police.

    Bogalusa early Tuesday morning.

Troopers say Truong was arrested and is facing the following charges:

Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses.
    Unauthorized use of a moveable.
    Soliciting for prostitutes.
An unauthorized use of a moveable is defined as the act of taking someone else's personal property without their permission, knowledge, or consent.

Truong, and all the other suspects were booked into the Washington Parish
jail, according to Louisiana State Police. No bail has been set at this
    time.

According to troopers, the investigation began in April when the Louisiana State Police Narcotics/Violent Crime Task Force learned of a drug
    trafficking organization operating in Bogalusa.

The organization has been linked to several dangerous controlled
substances, including opioids, high-grade marijuana, THC products, and
    MDMA.

According to state police, the organization used social media to
distribute the drugs and payments, with some money used to purchase guns.

State Police also said that some of the guns were given to people who were
not legally allowed to have them and others who were linked to violent
    crimes in Bogalusa.

WDSU reached out to the city of Bogalusa, Truong, and the Bogalusa Police Department for more information.
