BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green police arrested a man Saturday they say is accused of rape at an area hotel.
The Bowling Green Police Department says officers responded to the Wingate Hotel at 185 Greenwood Lane early Saturday morning for a reported rape.
Police say the victim, an employee, says a man, identified as 25-year-old Johnson Dukuly Lloyd, entered the front lobby and tried to sleep on the furniture. After the victim told him to leave, police say he left and returned to the lobby multiple times.
After the victim told Lloyd to leave again, police say he “jumped over the counter” before physically assaulting her.
Police say he then forced the victim “into a sexual act against her will.”
A few minutes later, Lloyd fled from the hotel, police say, before they found him nearby. Police say he tried to escape but was quickly apprehended.
During an interrogation, police say Lloyd told police he was homeless and that the Franklin Police Department had brought him to Bowling Green a couple of hours prior.
Lloyd was taken to the Warren County Detention Center.
He is charged with first-degree rape, fourth-degree assault and second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot).
