PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland man has been arrested on rape and sodomy charges after assaulting a young woman he met on a dating app - and the Portland Police Bureau is worried there could be additional victims.
The PPB states on Friday, August 9, at around 11:30 p.m., a community member called 911 to report a young woman was at their door asking for help and stating that she had been sexually assaulted.
Officers were sent to the 9000 block of North Woolsey Avenue, where they found an 18-year-old woman who told them she had been sexually attacked by a man she met through an online dating app.

The victim told officers the man used the threat of force to rape her. She was given immediate medical attention, and detectives from PPB’s Sex Crimes Unit responded to the scene.
The detectives identified the suspected rapist as Damani J. Anderson, 18, of Portland.
Anderson's arrest warrant reveals disturbing details related to the incident, including that shortly after meeting in a public area Anderson allegedly pulled a gun and led the victim to an isolated area at gunpoint, forced the gun in her mouth, and told
her he "[does] this for a living" before extensively assaulting the woman.
Anderson also reportedly took pictures of the girl after the assault for "collateral" and stole her phone. By herself, the victim was able to escape him and make her way to the house of the community member who called 911.
On Thursday, August 15, Anderson was located and taken into custody at a home in the 8000 block of North Swift Way with the help of U.S. Marshals.
He was taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center and charged with Rape in the First Degree, Sodomy in the First Degree, Kidnapping in the First Degree, Robbery in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
"Anytime someone can do something like this, there's always the potential that it's happened before, or it could happen again," Portland Police Spokesperson Mike Benner told KATU.
PPB is releasing Anderson’s photo in an effort to identify additional potential victims. If community members have information about this case, or other victims recognize Anderson, they are asked to contact Detective Kyffin Marcum at Kyffin.Marcum@
police.portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 24-200429.
