Arlington police said Vincent Moody, 57, of Arlington, followed a woman into the women's restroom and attempted to rape her. (ACPD)
ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — A 57-year-old Arlington man faces charges after police say he assaulted two individuals in separate incidents along Langston Boulevard on the evening of Sept. 12.
Arlington police said Vincent Moody, 57, of Arlington, followed a woman into the women's restroom inside an establishment just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 12. Moody then allegedly requested sex, grabbed the victim, attempted to remove her clothing and pushed
her into a stall, police said, adding that the victim then called a friend, who entered the restroom and pulled the suspect away from the victim.
Police said Moody then left the business and was walking in the 4700 block of Langston Boulevard when he approached a man, unrelated to the previous incident. Moody then struck the male victim and began walking toward female witnesses, the women told
police. A witness ran into a business for assistance and contacted police.
Arriving officers said they located Moody and took him into custody without incident.
Moody is charged with attempted rape, abduction with the intent to defile and assault and battery. He is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility.
