UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio —
A 30-year-old Springfield Township man who is currently in the Boone
County jail awaiting trial on rape, sodomy, kidnapping and assault
charges was indicted in a separate incident in Clermont County.
Jamal Richardson was indicted this week on two counts of rape and two
counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
The investigation began in February 2022.
According to a Union Township police report, a man who went by the name
"Rich" posted on social media asking if anyone wanted to hang out.
Two Highland County teens having a sleepover responded.
Then, at 4 a.m. "they snuck out to meet Rich" along with an unknown
driver.
The report states the driver drove around backroads while and "Rich had
Bacardi and both females drank some of it."
Details of the alleged sex assault involving one of the teenagers was
redacted from the report, but it does go on to say, "Rich got angry" and
"hit (one of the girls) in the face and slammed her head off the window"
and "grabbed (other victim) by the hair" and "began striking her in the
face."
According to the report, "Rich stated he is going to shoot up their
house and he knows where they live."
Once on Eastgate Boulevard in Clermont County, the girls were kicked out
of the car and Rich and the driver left, the report said.
Fifteen months later, Jamal Richardson was charged in this case.
Richardson was arrested in August 2022 in Boone County for similar
crimes involving a woman he met on social media.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office said Richardson picked her up, at her request, and was supposed to be driving her to her grandmother's home.
While driving, Richardson began repeatedly punching the woman in the
face, police said.
According to police, the alleged victim said she was punched about 20
times.
Police said Richardson then parked his vehicle in a gravel parking lot
on Mineola Pike and raped and sodomized the woman before leaving her
stranded in a gravel parking lot.
Richardson was charged with rape, kidnapping, sodomy, and assault. That
case has not yet gone to trial.
Richardson was also indicted in Hamilton County in Feb. 2020 in Hamilton
County on three rape charges, two kidnapping charges and two sexual
battery charges. There were two alleged victims in that case. The sexual battery charges were dismissed. A judge acquitted Richardson on the rape
and kidnapping charges.
Richardson also had a sexual imposition charge dismissed that was filed
in January 2022.
