WELLINGTON, Fla. — A man the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office described as a “serial rapist” is now behind bars.
Vincent Laing of Wellington was arrested Tuesday, accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a home in the Wellington Green Apartments community.
According to prosecutors, Laing met a woman inside the community and took her back to a home there.
The police report said once they got inside, Laing became violent.
“She stated that the male held a silver bladed sharp kitchen knife with a white handle to her face and told her to ‘shut up,’” the report reads.
The report goes on to say Laing then repeatedly sexually assaulted the woman.
“You see from his pattern of behavior, he is a very dangerous individual that we need to get off the streets,” said Andrew Bain, state attorney for Osceola and Orange counties.
Bain is interested in Laing because he is also charged with sexual assault in Orlando.
According to that police report, the assault happened in August 2023.
Laing is accused of sneaking up on a woman in a parking lot.
“An unknown male approached her and put a knife against her left side of her body and started to escort her towards an apartment,” the report reads.
Laing is accused of also repeatedly sexually assaulting that woman.
Orlando police said Laing is also a suspect in four other sexual assaults that he has not been charged with.
“We are actively working those cases as hard as we can to make sure that we can charge them if possible and bring justice to those victims,” Bain said.
Laing was free on bond from his arrest in Orange County when he was arrested in Wellington.
The judge in Palm Beach County ordered Laing be held without bond.
