KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knox County District Attorney Charme Allen said two men who raped a woman at a home in South Knoxville were convicted.
According to Allen, a detective with the Knoxville Police Department went to a home on Woodlawn Pike on April 23, 2023 for a report of a rape.
The victim told the detective that she was at the Cotton Eyed Joe in Farragut when she was approached by 31-year-old Donjae Demarco Bell and 30-year-old Cornelius Alvino. The DA’s Office said the two men, the victim and another woman took an Uber to
the home, and Bell and Alvino raped the victim shortly after arriving.
Within an hour of the incident, the victim went to the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital for a sexual assault examination.
“I know how difficult it was for the victim to come forward and testify, but these offenders are being held accountable because of her bravery,” said DA Allen.
Bell was convicted of two counts of aggravated rape, according to Allen. His sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 10, where he faces up to 25 years in prison.
Alvino pleaded guilty to rape and a separate drug trafficking case and was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
