Dayton black man accused of raping child given $250K bond

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A judge set a $250,000 bond for a 65-year-old Dayton man accused of luring a young girl to his home and raping her.

Nathaniel Shropshire is known in his neighborhood as ‘The Candy Man’ because he would sell treats out of his home.

He plead ‘not guilty’ to rape of a child under 13 as he was arraigned in court Thursday.

Investigators fear Shropshire could have other victims.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
