BAYTOWN, Texas (WKRC) - A 14-year-old girl was shot and killed by her 13-year-old classmate on a playground after the pair had an argument on a school bus.
According to local outlet KPRC 2, a woman who claimed to be the 14-year-old's godmother, said that the shooting happened after the two children "got into it" on the bus on the way home from school.
"Her and the little boy got into it on the bus, and he got off the bus, he went home, he came back, he went home again," the godmother said. "[The 14-year-old] came in and asked me, 'Tia, can I go outside?'"
The woman said that later that day, the boy showed up wearing a "black mask" to the playground the 14-year-old was hanging out at.
"He went home, put on all black, put on a black mask, and came back and called my baby's name and he shot my baby four times," the victim's godmother said,
According to local outlet Fox 26, the victim was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
The godmother said that she forgives the 13-year-old since he is just a child, but is confused why he had access to a gun in the first place.
"You should have put your weapon up so your 13-year-old son wouldn't have gotten this gun and shot my child," she said. "I am very hurt, I am very disappointed."
Police confirmed that the 13-year-old was placed into custody, but did not share what charges he could face.
