Trump, the economics-illiterate fuckwit, calculates the "tariff" he claims (lies) other countries are "charging" the U.S. as the trade imbalance between the U.S. and another country, divided by U.S. imports from the country. So if the U.S. imports $2 billion of goods from a country, and only export $1 billion of goods to the country, that means there is a trade "deficit" of -$1 billion. $1 billion divided by $2 billion is 50%. So Trump, the economics-illiterate fuckwit, claims (lies) that the other country is "charging" the U.S. a 50% tariff. That is complete bullshit. The other country might not levy *any* tariff
on goods imported from the U.S. The reason there is a trade "deficit" is that they make more stuff we want than we make of stuff they want.

Having made this bullshit calculation, Trump, the economics-illiterate fuckwit, then divides that in half, and calls that a "reciprocal" tariff, with a minimum of 10% — that is, if the bullshit calculated "tariff" divided by two is less than 10%, then the bullshit "reciprocal" tariff is set at 10%.

The calculation of the "tariff" that Trump, the economics-illiterate fuckwit, claims other countries are "charging" the U.S. is bullshit all the way, but consider this: countries with which the U.S. has a trade *surplus* are still hit
with a 10% tariff increase. Why? Because Trump is a stupid shitworm.
