CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged after police say he broke into a woman's home and sexually assaulted her Thursday morning.

Malik Jamon Allen was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree rape, five counts of first-degree sex offense, first-degree kidnapping and second-degree breaking and entering.

The incident happened just before 9 a.m. on the 4300 block of Browne's Ferry Road in north Charlotte.

The victim told responding officers that a male broke into her house and sexually assaulted her. He then took several items from inside the home before leaving.

Croft Community Elementary and David Cox Elementary were on lockdown until 10:28 a.m., school officials said, as an extra precaution due to the large police presence in the area.

Anyone with further information about the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.
