PHOENIX, Ariz. (KVOA) - The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona has charged 314 individuals with immigration-related crimes in a focused operation from May 3 to May 9, 2025. These charges include 117
illegal re-entry cases and 166 illegal entry cases.
The operation, part of Operation Take Back America, also targeted
smuggling activities, filing 25 cases involving 31 individuals. This
initiative aims to curb illegal immigration and dismantle criminal organizations.
Federal agencies including ICE, U.S. Border Patrol, and the FBI
supported these efforts. Significant cases include the arrest of Marco
Antonio Ruelas-Solis, found with a firearm in Tonto National Forest, and Clayton Line Wilhite, charged after a vehicle chase near an immigration checkpoint.
Authorities emphasize that criminal complaints are not evidence of
guilt. "An individual is presumed innocent until evidence is presented
to a jury that establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt," the
official document stated.
