As we reported, the U.S. and China had a breakthrough, coming to a trade
deal over the weekend.
They agreed to reductions in tariffs for 90 days, made progress on
fentanyl, and have established a framework for continuing talks headed up
by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
That last part is perhaps most important for lasting change, and Bessent
was very positive that they were changing unfair trade against us.
But Bessent also revealed something shocking. One of the major problems
was Joe Biden's failure to uphold what we had agreed to previously with
China. Talk about selling us down the river.
Bessent explained that when President Donald Trump left office after his
first term, they had an agreement, but "The Biden administration chose not
to enforce it," he explained. The Chinese delegation "basically told us"
that once President Biden came into office, they just ignored their obligations."
Oh.
So, once again, Joe Biden failed to defend the interests of the United
States. And people wonder why everything was such a mess under Biden? It's exactly these kinds of actions — or lack of action. Was it because of
Biden's connections to China, or Biden just being figuratively absent in general? Either way, if this is true, weakness allowed China to run all
over us. Of course, Biden did nothing to stop it, so Trump, once again,
has to clean up his mess.
Former Trump Deputy National Security Advisor KT McFarland backed up what Bessent was saying, that when Biden came into office, China ignored the
trade deal. Then, Biden failed to do anything about it: "Presidents DO
matter."
From the border to Afghanistan, now to China, Biden let everyone run all
over us. He may have been the worst person ever to occupy the Oval Office, certainly when it came to defending the best interests of the United
States. This was the guy that Democrats wanted to sell to us for another
four years before they swapped Kamala Harris in? Do we need any more of a reason why Americans should never vote for Democrats again when they fail
so badly at the main point of the job: the defense of the United States? Everyone knew they could run all over us under Biden. Now, he wants to
"come back" and rehabilitate his time in office? He can't rehabilitate all
the failures.
The Trump team has to hold China's feet to the fire and get them to comply
with the deal to open up more fair trade. I don't think China will put
anything past Bessent, because he's sharp and knows all the games. They
were able to get China to the table by pressuring them until their economy
felt it, big time, and protesters were in the streets.
So the Chinese now know the U.S. isn't messing around, strength is now the watchword of the day, and they no longer have any wiggle room.
