• SamKnows gone all quiet on me

From David@21:1/5 to All on Thu Apr 17 18:55:51 2025
I've had a SamKnows box monitoring my Virgin Media broadband for many
    years now.
I was contacted before Xmas to say that the box was not reporting.
I rebooted it, and checked on the dashboard where it seemed to be working again.
I received an email from SamKnows saying it was reporting again.

I now note that I haven't received any monthly reports since December.
My login to the dashboard no longer works, although the password change
    feature did work.
    However still no dashboard.

I have had no response from the email address for support.

    Is SamKnows no longer working?

    I still have their router.

    Cheers

    I still have their router.

Confirmed today via email that their code can now run within a standard router so you don't need the additional router that they supplied.

SamKnows routers and accounts are apparently no longer supported.

    They advise recycling the router.
At the moment I don't have the energy to reflash it, so I will ask locally
if any hobbyist wants to play.

    The Whitebox is: https://openwrt.org/toh/samknows/sk-wb8?s[]=openwrt&s[]=default

if anyone wants to try. The black ones were consumer TP-Link routers.

Specs are nothing particularly amazing, but I suppose it could be used as an additional switch, access point or similar if it was going free. I've done
the latter with a spare Homehub 5a.
