HW monitor reports them going over 80C
Whilst this is in range (allegedly) it is a lot higher than I remember.
I was expecting somewhere over 40C.
Shutting down now to investigate.
Possible new paste for CPU heat sink.
Possible new CPU cooler.
Possible glitch in the variable fan speed.
All good fun.

"cooling profile" so that the fan starts working harder at a lower
temperature.
That is the next stop.
IIRC I have a cooling profile to keep the fans quiet, and a "silent"
case fan.
It is so long since I built this that I can't remember quite what the settings were.
Probably worth renewing the paste anyway, as a maintenance measure.

Also ...(dumb question alert !!!) I am assuming that the CPU fan is connected to the CPU fan header on the MOBO - mine has 3 or 4 headers
which all look the same to me
