Extreme caution is needed as the operation to take down Hull's first large wind turbine continues following a major fire.
The wind turbine, located at Cargill's Hull factory, set on fire back in August 2022, prompting a huge emergency response. It is thought the fire is likely to have been triggered by either an electrical or mechanical fault.
In June, the dismantling progress was underway as the turbine blades were taken down by a huge mechanical arm. An update from the company behind the turbine, Cargill, says that a specialist has been hired to take down the
rest of the turbine, with work being aimed to be completed before the end
of July.
