An Edinburgh cyclist has had a terrifying encounter in the city centre after a car turned into the wrong lane and almost crashed into them.
The video, which was taken on Wednesday August 23 at 3.35pm, shows a cyclist travelling down North Bridge towards Leith Street.
They make the correct turn as they head towards Leith Street, but shockingly, a motorist coming in the opposite direction enters into the cyclist's lane and oncoming traffic.
The driver, who is in a red Peugeot, then scarily realises their error before swerving into a lane travelling in the correct direction.
However, the careless motorist again travels through a red light and turns up onto North Bridge by using the incorrect lane and failing to indicate.
The cyclist thankfully is not struck by the motorist as they perform several dangerous manoeuvres at the busy city centre junction.
The clip was shared by @EdCycleHome on X and is captioned ‘Just another normal day in #Edinburgh!’
Several X users shared their dismay at the driver’s actions, one person said: “I drive in the town as part of my business but I have never seen this type of thing before.”
Whilst another added: “That's actually a new one for me.”
And someone else said: “What the hell!”
